Dr. Battersby grew up in Westport, CT, graduated from Staples High School, and attended the University of Rhode Island, majoring in Wildlife Biology and Management and minoring in Animal Veterinary Science. He developed his love for animals while serving as a member and officer of the junior staff at Earthplace, in Westport. After receiving his D.V.M degree from Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine, he served his clinical year at the University of Missouri, College of Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Battersby spent the previous 10+ years as an associate veterinarian in Westchester County, NY. In his spare time, he is an avid fisherman and boater, and you will most definitely find him on the water when he is not in the veterinary hospital. Dr Battersby and Dr. Skopit have two rescue dogs at home--a Golden Retriever named Beemer and a Border Collie mix named Ottley.

Dr. Skopit was born in Miami, FL and completed her undergraduate work at the University of Michigan, earning a degree in Biology. After graduating from Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine with a D.V.M. degree, she served her clinical year at the University of Missouri, College of Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Skopit later attended the Chi Institute of Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine in Reddick, FL and graduated in their Acupuncture Certification program. She has worked at two small animal hospitals in Westchester County, NY, and she has also served as head of the Emergency Veterinary Medicine Department of the Veterinary Specialty Center of Hudson Valley. Additionally, Dr. Skopit formerly operated an independent house-call practice specifically for veterinary acupuncture for pets with difficulties traveling to a hospital setting. Her hobbies include photography and baking. (Keep a look out for fresh baked dog biscuits in the future!)
